Dallas-based Kaurina’s introduces a frozen dessert street food from India called kulfi. (See Dairy Foods, September 2012, page 52).The bars are made from cooked milk and cane sugar. They are gluten and preservative-free. The bars come in nine flavors, including pistachio almond, mango, malai, chocolate, coconut and vanilla. The company makes 1.6-ounce stick bars and 3-ounce stickless bars. They are sold singly and in packages of four or more. H.E.B. and Fiesta supermarkets in Texas carry the products, as well as Indian markets in California, Illinois, New York, Georgia, Texas and Oklahoma.
