Most USDA prices for dairy products down slightly last week

The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), Agricultural Statistics Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture reported for the week ending Jan. 28:
- Butter prices received for 25-kilogram and 68-pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.59 per pound. The U.S. price per pound decreased 0.3 cent from the previous week.
- Cheddar cheese prices received for U.S. 40-pound blocks averaged $1.58 per pound, a 0.7 cent decrease from the previous week. The price for U.S. 500-pound barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $1.58 per pound, down 2.7 cents from the previous week.
- Dry whey prices received for bag, tote, and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade standards averaged 67.5 cents per pound, a decrease of 3.6 cents.
- Nonfat dry milk prices received for bag, tote, and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Grade A standards averaged $1.39 per pound, an increase of 2.8 cents.
