Beginning July 2011, Dannon Co., White Plains, N.Y., will offer foodservice operators ready-to-serve Strawberry & Granola Parfait made with Lowfat Activia Yogurt. Each parfait container includes 5-ounces of yogurt, 2-ounces of a strawberry fruit blend composed of whole strawberries and strawberry pieces, and 1-ounce granola (in a separate dome container). A single parfait contains 2-grams of fiber, which comes from a number of sources, including hydrocolloids, oats and fruit.
According to the company, foodservice operators can now offer customers the great-tasting parfait they crave, without the mess, labor and waste of parfaits prepared from scratch. They can also increase operational efficiency with a 21-day shelf life and no assembly required - just stock and serve.
