The MiniStation from Strongarm is the ideal solution for situations where adjustability and exact positioning of the operator interface are important.

The MiniStation features Strongarm’s industry-standard Vertica articulating arm, providing up to 30 inches of counterbalanced vertical adjustability. The MiniStation’s diverse selection of displays, keyboards and pointers allows the customer to specify the exact components needed for their operator-interface requirements. The MiniStation can be mounted to a wall, a machine top or a free-standing post, and a wide selection of extensions provides further mounting flexibility. This allows the MiniStation to be installed wherever space permits, while simultaneously allowing the operator to quickly and easily position the display exactly where needed.

Typical applications include use of the display for set-up, then repositioning out of the way during operation; repositioning of the display for use on opposite sides of a conveyor belt; and moving the display up and over an obstruction.

“The MiniStation solves many problems for our customers, including those related to efficiency and ease of use,” says Bill Fleming, national sales manager at Strongarm. “Not only can we provide them with a tested and durable operator interface system that’s ideally suited for their environment, but we can further configure their system to meet the challenges of their particular ergonomic situation. Now our customers won’t have to worry about having workstations that are poorly located or difficult to use.”

The MiniStation offers industry-standard Strongarm mountings; convenient adjustability for operators of varying heights; easy adjustment between floor and platform viewing heights; compact and repositionable, with 13, 23 or 30 inches of vertical travel; smooth, counterbalanced adjustability for ease of use; vertical lock-in-place; additional articulation provided at both ends of the arm, with rotational movement up to 165 degrees at either end; four display sizes (21.3, 19.1, 17.1, and 15.1 inches) that can be configured with resistive, infrared, or surface acoustic wave (SAW) touch-screen technologies; multiple keyboard and pointer selections, including the exclusive stainless-steel mouse;  PC options that include an internal micro PC, a small-form factor PC in a protective local enclosure, or an internal KVM extender allowing the user to connect to a remote PC up to 3,000 feet away.

It’s available in NEMA 4X stainless steel for washdown and wipedown environments, and NEMA 4/12 painted aluminum/steel for general industrial use; configurable for Class 1 Division 1 and Class 1 Division 2 hazardous areas; and comes completely assembled and ready to deploy, eliminating the need for expensive and time-consuming installation procedures.

Additionally, the MiniStation can be configured with a variety of options to meet the requirements of any application. These include precision cutouts for push buttons, integration of additional peripherals such as bar-code scanners, and a comprehensive selection of cooling options for extreme environmental conditions. With more than 40,000 installations, Strongarm’s vast catalog of variations and options gives them the expertise to rapidly customize each system to meet the specific needs of the customer.
