David Pozniak, who was president and chief executive officer of Schreiber Foods Inc. from 2007 to 2008, died May 31 at age 57, after a battle with cancer. He served as a board member of the National Cheese Institute from 1997 to 2004 and from 2007 until he retired from Schreiber Foods in 2008.
Pozniak was born in Monett, Mo.; he earned a degree in dairy science from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Drury University in Springfield, Mo. Pozniak joined Green Bay, Wis.-based Schreiber in 1974 as production supervisor at the company's Carthage, Mo., plant. He was named a production manager and then human resources director in 1978; ingredient sales manager and then director of marketing in 1985; general manager of international in 1992; vice president of purchasing in 1996; senior vice president of global trade and development and a member of the board of directors in 1999; president and chief operating officer for global trade and development in 2001; and president and CEO in 2007. He also was an executive board member for the U.S. Dairy Export Council.
Pozniak is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children; his parents; and several brothers and sisters.
