Peco Pallet Inc. announces a significant expansion of its authorized North American Distributor Network in the pallet pooling segment of the food and consumer products supply chain.
The most recent additions to the Peco program include the Kroger family of stores, Bozzuto’s, Weis Markets, CVS, Dollar General, Brookshire Grocery, Unified Grocers, Smart & Final and Big Lots.
“A controlled network is critical to managing damage, losses, utilization, recovery,
inspection, and repair operations,” said Jeff Euritt, Peco’s vice president of service. “Maintaining a controlled network allows Peco to know where all our pallets are at any point, perform quality inspections and repair to a published standard. This helps ensure the stability and sustainability of Peco’s quality and its business model.”
Adrian Potgieter, Peco’s VP of sales, added: “We can now deliver a pallet rental solution which will cover as much as 95% of a typical manufacturer of food and consumer goods shipping to North American distributors. This coverage is comparable to competing programs but without the exposure of losses or poor quality associated with uncontrolled networks offered by other pallet pooling programs.”
Peco’s signature red rental pallets are benefiting the supply chains of many of the world’s leading companies and brands, including private label shippers, in the grocery and consumer goods markets. Peco, whose business has grown 35% in 2008, is structured around a management team of supply chain experts experienced in this market segment.
Promoting a business that is sustainable with low environmental impact, while improving distribution efficiencies for its customers, has established Peco as the second-largest pallet-pooling provider in North America.
Peco is based in New York and maintains more than 140 product service centers and manufacturing plants throughout North America.
