According to local broadcast reports, Land O'Lakes will close its butter manufacturing plant in Madison, leaving around 120 workers out of a job.

The St. Paul, Minn.-based company announced it will shut down Madison Dairy within 60 days and layoffs will likely begin in mid May.

The plant is scheduled to close in mid June.

A spokeswoman says operating the Madison location is no longer economically feasible, and other Land O'Lakes plants around the country will make up for lost production.
