Upstate Farms recently awarded $100,000 to a lucky Buffalo Bills football fan. Beverly Bennett, Batavia, NY, scored big when Bills cornerback Terrence McGee returned a kickoff for a touchdown during a game against the New England Patriots. She qualified by purchasing Bison Dip during the "Kick Off the Season With Bison" sweepstakes.

Windmills and Milk
Horizon Organic, will replace the electrical power used in its operations with sustainable wind energy, exclusively using wind power for its supply chain. This move joins Horizon Organic with White Wave, one of its sister brands since consolidating under parent company, Dean Foods. In 2003, White Wave became the largest company to use wind energy credits for 100% of its operations needs.

Heart of the Left Coast
Despite its salad bowl-location, Santee Dairies Inc. has changed its name to Heartland Farms. The California-based company is one of the largest milk and beverage processing plants in the western United States. The company says the new name "better describes the marketing focus of the company."

Danone Sales Up
French Groupe Danone has reported a 5.5% growth in sales for the third-quarter, while sales for the first nine months of the year grew 7.7%. The company noted poor weather conditions in Europe impacted sales in that region, but that it is still on target to gain sales growth of 7% for the year.
