Three of Vermont's largest cooperatively-run grocery stores have launched a joint venture milk brand named "Vermont Co-op Milk."
Plastic gallon jugs of Vermont Co-op milk were expected to be headed to dairy coolers around the state early this month. Products will include skim, 1%, 2% and whole milk, and the milk will come from cows free of synthetic bovine growth hormones.
The products are bottled at Monument Farms, one of the few dairies in Vermont still bottling milk from its own cows.
