A group of California artisan, farmstead and specialty cheese producers have formed the California Artisan Cheese Guild. The group's mission is to support and encourage the California cheesemaking community.
Founding members include cheesemakers Fiscalini Farms, near Modesto, and Cowgirl Creamery, Point Reyes, and distributor 3D Cheese of San Francisco. The Guild will initially be run as a membership organization, open to cheesemakers and enthusiasts, and will be converted to a not-for-profit trade group within approximately one year.
