Morningstar Foods has introduced a new plastic packaging for its International Delight brand featuring what it calls the coffee creamer category’s first one-handed open and pour bottle. The new plastic bottle, distinguished by an ergonomic shape and bold blue lid and shrink sleeve label design, allows for a convenient one-handed open and pour.
Record Results at Lifeway
Lifeway Foods Inc., Morton Grove, Ill., said its net income rose by 39% on a 14% jump in revenues for the fiscal year 2002. The maker of cultured kefir products and Hispanic fruit drinks reported net income of about $1.7 million or 40 cents per share on sales of more than $12 million. In 2001, net income was about $1.2 million or 28 cents per share on sales of $10.6 million.
LOL Supports MPC Tariffs
Land O’Lakes Inc. has thrown its support behind legislative efforts to restrict imports of Milk Protein Concentrate (MPC). “Land O'Lakes has taken an active role in supporting MPC legislation for the past two years,” said Steven Krikava, Land O'Lakes dir. of government relations. “Imports of milk proteins are displacing domestic dairy products and preventing the domestic production of MPC and casein.”
Huge in Britain
Arla Foods, Denmark has started construction of a new, $86 million dairy outside Leeds, UK, which is expected to be completed in October, 2004. At the same time, the company is also improving and expanding the production at a larger dairy in Oakthorpe, north of London, it said. Arla is the largest dairy processor in the UK.
