Consumer packaged goods companies winning in their categories are three times more likely to invest in growth channels and the Hispanic market, 50% more likely to use pricing optimization tools, five times more likely to view retailer collaboration as a strategic priority, and invest twice as much time in talent development.
Among the five most advertised conventional dairy products, cheese ads are down 3.2%, yogurt ads are down 14.9%, ice cream ads are down by 10.6%, milk ad numbers increased by 22.9% and ads for cream cheese increased by 47.4%.

The most advertised cheese category, 8 ounce shredded, has a weighted average advertised price of $2.19, a 6.8% price decrease from last cycle. The average price for 8 ounce blocks, $2.20, is a 5.2% price decrease from the last cycle.
The award is presented to the dairy co-op "in recognition for all it has done to support and promote the dairy industry throughout New York State, and across the nation."

Agri-Mark will receive the New York Dairy of Distinction 2012 'Business of Distinction' award at a special ceremony on Aug. 27 at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY.
"We're pleased to announce that Agri-Mark has been named our 2012 'Business of Distinction'," said Nancy Putman, Secretary of Dairy of Distinction's New York chapter. "Agri-Mark and its Cabot and McCadam dairy brands exemplify the very best in the dairy industry."

The American Butter Institute’s social media campaign “Go Bold With Butter” focuses on maintaining levels of positive consumer awareness of butter and fostering increased butter usage.
The Practical Membrane Technology Short Course, held June 6 to 8 in Bloomington, Minn., attracted 103 participants. The short course is organized by BNP Media, owner of Dairy Foods magazine and produced by the magazine and Filtration & Membrane World LLC.

For the first time ever, the readers of Dairy Foods selected the Plant Of The Year. We asked you to vote online for one of 13 nominees. All of the nominated dairy processors had been featured in the magazine between January 2011 and June 2012. We publicized the awards program through our own social media channels, and we encouraged each of the nominated processors to do the same.
At the 6th Dairy Solutions Symposium, featuring speakers from dairy processing and dairy producing firms, the conclusion was unanimous: sustainability is the key to safeguarding the future and it needs to start now.
