A study by researchers at the Institute for Aging Research (IFAR) at Hebrew SeniorLife, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School (HMS), has found that dairy intake -- specifically milk and yogurt -- is associated with higher bone mineral density (BMD) in the hip, but not the spine.
According to research from Mintel, some 42% of Hispanic men and more than half (55%) of Hispanic dads are the top decision maker on the purchases made in their household.

Total sales for the dairy co-op were a record $14.1 billion.

Land O'Lakes Inc. reported 2012 sales of $14.1 billion (up 10.2% from 2011) and net earnings of $241 million (up 31%). Both are records. Additionally, three of the business segments achieved record sales, and the Crop Inputs segment had record earnings in addition to record sales.

Two separate research studies that look at attitudes and motivations of women and men can help marketers of dairy foods hone their messages.
Anthem Worldwide wrote a white paper, “What Women Really Want From Health And Wellness.” Research by Kraft Cheese shows that today's dads are taking a more active role in the kitchen, as well as with food shopping, menu planning and meal preparation.
The affected plants are in Heiden, Germany, and Newcastle Emlyn, Wales.

Saputo announced the closure of its cheese manufacturing plant in Heiden (Germany) and enters into a 30-day consultation period for the proposed closure of its facility in Newcastle Emlyn, Wales (United Kingdom). The two plants were acquired in 2006 and 2007 respectively
Tea and ready-to-drink (RTD) tea achieved estimated sales of $6.7 billion in 2012, according to Chicago-based market research firm Mintel. And sales are expected to grow to nearly $8 billion by 2014, said Douglas Rash, group vice president of global sales for Treatt, Lakeland, Fla., citing statistics from Rockville, Md.-based Packaged Facts.

yogurt manufacturing facility. Ground-breaking was held in December 2011, construction began in January 2012 and the building was completed on Dec. 17, 2012.
