Cacique LLC, a Los Angeles-based Hispanic foods company that makes authentic Mexican-style cheeses, cremas and chorizos, announced an addition to the company's ownership group as part of a round of funding that will be used to accelerate its brand’s continued rapid growth nationwide.
Last year was a monumental one for the world, and a newsworthy one for Tillamook County Creamery Association, too. The Tillamook, Ore.-based cooperative became a Certified B Corporation, donated $4 million dollars to a COVID-19 relief fund and partnered with the American Farmland Trust to help secure farmland for future generations.
The award was presented on Jan. 25 during the association’s annual Dairy Forum.

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), Washington, D.C., said it recognized the remarkable leadership of Sue Taylor, former vice president of dairy economics and policy for Leprino Foods Co., by honoring her with the IDFA Laureate Award.
Up until only recently, milk sales in U.S. retail outlets had been on a decades-long decline. As the coronavirus forced many consumers to work, study and/or eat at home, however, retail milk sales benefited.
Both companies manufacture Hispanic frozen novelty products.

Wind Point Partners and portfolio company Tropicale Foods, an Ontario, Calif.-based manufacturer of authentic Hispanic-inspired frozen novelty products under the Helados Mexico brand, announced the acquisition of Paleteria La Michoacana (PLM), a portfolio company of Canum Capital Partners and Greyrock Capital Group.
