A bipartisan group of 25 senators sent a letter on Aug. 26 identifying challenges with implementing several dairy-related provisions in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
The association also announced a new virtual event for 2021: ‘PLMA Live! Private Label Week.’

The Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) said it canceled its 2020 Private Label Trade Show in light of continuing uncertainties concerning the health and safety of participants at large-scale, in-person gatherings.
One of the ways to add differentiation and consumer appeal to a fermented dairy drink is to increase the protein content. But adding protein to any cultured product typically results in an increase in viscosity.
The second round of Dairy Business Innovation Initiative grants will support continuation of the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance.

USDA announced that the Center for Dairy Research (CDR) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) were awarded $6.13 million to support continuation of the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance (DBIA), serving Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Danone North America, headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., and Broomfield, Colo., said its Oikos Triple Zero brand is celebrating the National Football League (NFL) season kickoff with two new ads, starring New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, as part of its “Stronger Makes Everything Better” campaign.
The offerings include Pumpkin Spice “almondmilk” and fall-flavored yogurts.
