At a time when many Americans are facing unprecedented hardships as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, the family farm-owners and employees of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a Kansas City, Kan., headquartered national dairy cooperative, are stepping up to provide nutritious dairy products to those in need.
The organizations sent a letter to President Trump on April 10.

Following an April 3 letter to congressional leadership urging targeted financial aid be provided through the next coronavirus relief package to workers in the critical food industry, the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and other food industry associations sent a letter to President Donald Trump homing in on a key recommendation.
The donations will go to food recovery organizations.

In an email to International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) members, Michael Dykes, D.V.M., IDFA’s president and CEO, said the association made “the difficult decision” to cancel the Ice Cream Technology and Yogurt & Cultured Dairy conferences for 2020.
In today's refrigerated grocery store aisles, customers can find a plethora of cultured dairy options, including yogurt/skyr, sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese and kefir.
The groups, including IDFA, NMPF and 15 others, submitted a letter to Congress on April 3.

The bid is contingent upon approval by the bankruptcy court, Department of Justice and more.
