The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA), Madison, Wis., announced a break with tradition, as it plans to host the World Championship Cheese Contest in February 2021.

Dairy industry suppliers, marketers and processors joined the first-ever online Championship Cheese Auction on April 24 and raised more than $93,000 to support the Championship Cheese Contests, scholarship programs and educational workshops of the Madison, Wis.-based Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA).

The entry deadline for the World Championship Cheese Contest is Jan. 31.

The 2020 World Championship Cheese Contest is now accepting entries of cheese, butter, yogurt and dry dairy ingredients now through Jan. 31 at WorldChampionCheese.org.

Last year’s program drew a record-breaking 3,472 cheeses from 41 countries.

It’s the second champion title for the company in only four years.

The contest received a record number of entries for 2019.
