Lucerne Foods, the manufacturer of private label products for retailer Safeway Inc., Pleasanton, Calif., introduces Eating Right Light Ice Cream Cups. The single-serve, 100-calorie, 4-ounce cups come in a number of flavors including Mocha Cappuccino, which uses a coffee base consisting of coffee extract, corn syrup, caramel color and natural flavor.
The product contains a proprietary blend of five probiotic cultures, which, according to the companies, can help regulate the digestive system and enhance immunity. The product is also enhanced with the omega-3 fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Sold in packs of four, each cup contains a handy spoon under the lid.
