Membrane Technology Forum

Dr. Jayendra Amamcharla will deliver the keynote speech on Day 1 of the Membrane Technology Forum titled: "Milk is more than the sum of its parts." Dr. Amamcharla will deliver the speech on June 13 from 8:10-9 a.m. Central time during the event, taking place at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center in Minneapolis.

Milk is nature’s perfect food. We have used milk in fluid and dry forms in the food industry for a century. Technologies have been developed over the years to fractionate milk into many unique ingredients that deliver customized functionality and nutrition to food applications. We continue to discover new things about milk and the dairy complex but we still have much to learn. This presentation will give you a fresh new look at milk and the latest research on new dairy derived ingredients.

Dr. Jayendra Amamcharla has undergraduate and graduate degrees in dairy technology and dairy engineering, respectively. He has completed his doctoral degree in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at North Dakota State University (NDSU), Fargo, N.D. Subsequently, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Dairy Science Department at South Dakota State University (SDSU), Brookings, SD. Currently, he is with the Animal Sciences and Industry Department, Kansas State University as a Professor (Food Science). Last two years, he is also serving as the interim director of Midwest Dairy Foods Research Center. As a next step in his career, he accepted a faculty position focusing on Dairy Fractionation and Separation Science in the Food Science and Nutrition Department at University of Minnesota. He will be starting his new position at University of Minnesota in the first week of July.

The Membrane Technology Forum is presented by Dairy Foods and the American Dairy Products Institute.
