NMPF and IDFA are carefully reviewing other provisions set forth in the proposed rule, including the weekly added sugars and sodium limits, to assess their impact on students’ ability to benefit from nutrient-dense dairy food. NMPF and IDFA will submit formal comments as requested by USDA.

Burlington, Vt.-based Ben & Jerrys has added two more flavors to their fan-favorite Topped collection: Bossin' Cream Pie and Raspberry Cheesecake. The Topped lineup, complete with decadent top layers of chocolatey ganache, are evocative of a trip to one's favorite bakery.

Manufacturers continue to ensure the safety of infant formula, while creating a product more like breast milk. Abbott, Mead Johnson, and Gerber are the top major brand manufacturers of infant formula. Perrigo, a private-label manufacturer, plans to purchase Nestlé’s Gateway plant, increasing its production capacity from 29 million pounds to 36 million pounds annually.
