Dairy processor HP Hood, Lynnfield, Mass., is promoting its cream by sending a food truck to Boston, Portland, Maine, and Providence, R.I. from Nov. 26 to Dec. 13.

The truck, called the "Soup Boutique, Inspired by Hood Cream," is serving two cream-based soups. One soup recipe is prepared by Chef Jonathan Dunn of Lavishly Dunn Catering. The other is created by a local chef at each tour stop.

For each sample distributed, Hood is donating one dollar (up to $10,000) to a local food bank in each city.

Participating chefs on the Boston tour are Chris Coombs of Deuxave/dBar and Eric Gregory of Grafton Street Pub and Grill. The Portland chef is Jeff Landry of The Farmer’s Table; and the Providence chef is Ben Lloyd of Tazza Caffe.

The featured chefs will meet guests and Hood representatives will hand out recipe cards and coupons for Hood Cream products.

A contest gives one weekly winner a Hood Soup Boutique prize package, including a $100 restaurant gift card to that week’s chef’s restaurant, Hood Cream coupons, cookware and a Hood New England Dairy Cook-Off cookbook. Entry is by posting a response to the question “In what dish do you love using @HPHood Cream?” to Twitter using the #HoodSoupTruck hashtag or sharing a response on to the contest tab on Hood’s Facebook page.
