Protective Boots and Shoe Covers
Disposable/reusable VR Protective Boots & Shoe Covers are for use where liquids and fluids are present and foot, ankle and lower-leg protection is desirable. Perfect for minimizing the potential for cross contamination, VR Protective Boots and Shoe Covers provide impervious protection against biological and chemical contaminates, with elastic tops for added splash protection. VR Boots provide knee-high foot and lower-leg coverage, with VR Shoe Covers providing full coverage of foot and work shoe. VR, the new-age odorless and non-toxic impervious material, is challenging the dominance of vinyl and traditional apron materials in food processing plants across the country.  VR combines high-tech plastic resins with modern extrusion techniques to produce a longer wearing, more comfortable, crack-resistant lightweight boot and shoe cover. —PolyConversions Inc., 505 Condit Drive, Rantoul, Ill., 61866, phone: (888) 893-3330, Web site: www.polyconversions.com
Color-Coded Products
Nelson-Jameson now provides an even wider selection of color-coded products selected specifically for the food industry. More than just brushes, the company brings together hundreds of items to give plants a total program that allows complete-zone color coding to help prevent cross contamination. Both food processors and regulators agree that by using brushes, pails and other sanitary tools that are assigned — by color — to a particular area or task, the risk of bacterial migration can be greatly reduced. A complete color-coded system helps sanitation programs by assuring plant tools stay in the areas they are meant to be used, doing the jobs they are meant to do. A new 20-page mini-catalog features Nelson-Jameson’s complete line of color-coded products. — Nelson-Jameson Inc., 2400 E. Fifth St., P.O. Liquid Line Traps
Cesco Magnetics introduces a series of aseptic, magnetic liquid line traps for 11/2” (38.25mm) to 4” (102mm) aseptic processing lines operating at up to 200 PSI and temperatures of 150°C. Machined from a solid block of 314 stainless steel, the AS series of MagTraps™ exceed 3A standards for sanitary fabrication. Powerful, long-lived, rare-earth magnets capture and hold trash or fines of ferrous, nickel, carbide and work-hardened stainless smaller than state-of-the-art metal detectors can sense to ensure product quality and prevent equipment damage in food, beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical processing operations. MagTraps allow pumped products to flow unimpeded through multiple intense magnetic fields, and the easy-to-clean AS design makes disposing of captured debris a fast and easy process. — Cesco Magnetics, 93 Utility Court, Rohnert Park, Calif., 94928, phone: (877) 624-8727 or (707) 585-2402, fax: (707) 585-3886, e-mail: contact@cescomagnetics.com. Packaging Innovation
Polypack introduces a new way to package tubes. The odd shapes and sizes of tubes have always been a challenge to package. The company has developed a system that inverts and packages tubes for distribution. Polypack’s tube series machines are fully automatic, offset-inline, shrink multi-packing systems designed specifically for tubed products. The Tube 90 and Tube 180 consist of a single or dual lane infeed/collator with a single or dual lane wrapper/tunnel. The packaging systems save money, space and simplify product storage. These systems are extremely versatile, easy to operate, and highly reliable. — Polypack Inc., 3301 Gateway Centre Blvd.,  Pinellas Park, Fla., 33782, phone: (727) 578-5000, fax: (727) 578-1300, e-mail: info@polypack.com, Web site: www.polypack.com
Pilot Program
Johnson Refrigerated Truck Bodies has launched the next generation in cold plate technology with its RouteMax pilot program. Thirty trucks equipped with RouteMax and capable of extended route cold plate deliveries will soon be on the road. E.A. Sween Co., maker of Deli Express Sandwiches, will become the first customer to use a fully equipped RouteMax delivery vehicle. RouteMax takes the reliability, longevity and cost effectiveness of a cold plate refrigeration system to the next level. Trucks equipped with the new technology will allow users to charge the cold plates as they drive — reducing plug-in time for the cold plates and extending delivery routes. — Johnson Refrigerated Truck Bodies, 215 E. All-Stainless Deunitizer
American Conveyor’s all-stainless deunitizer eliminates the need for employees to “drag” stacks of empty crates onto floor conveyors on the way to the washer or stacks of full crates of product on the way to load-out onto an in-floor conveyor after being dropped nearby by a clamp truck. Employing a deunitizer allows the clamp truck to simply drop blocks of stacks that need to be put into a single column on one end of the deunitizer and single stacks of crates exit on the conveyor at the opposite end. The deunitizer has a demonstrated history of paying for itself in less than six months, not including the cost of reduced worker’s comp claims or the shortening of product handling times by a factor five. — American Conveyor Corp., 1819 Flushing Ave., Ridgewood, N.Y., 11385, phone: (718) 386-0480, fax: (718) 456-1233, e-mail: info@americanconveyor.net, Web site: www.americanconveyor.net
Case Liner
O/K International is proud to introduce its newly designed Superliner 220. At up to 18 cases per minute, it is one of the fastest case liners on the market. The Superliner 220 makes bags from a roll of gussetted polyethylene tubing, places the bag into a case, crate, drum or tray and cuffs the bag over the edges. It is a cost-effective machine, suitable for standard applications within a defined case range. All of the company’s case liners are equipped with Allan Bradley controls. — O/K International Corp., 73 Bartlett St., Marlborough, Mass., 01752, phone: (508) 303-8286, fax: (508) 303-8207, Web site: www.okcorp.com

Anti-Tamper Lock
By ensuring valves and actuators are only operated by authorized individuals, the Anti-Tamper Lock (ATL) from Smith Flow Control secures companies’ assets by reducing the risk of human error or deliberate tampering. The way the ATL works is very simple. The standard condition of the device in service is locked (key-free), with the handwheel free-rotating (the standard unit is available in two sizes to suit all lever and handwheel operated valves). Operation involves three simple steps: first, a coded key is inserted, engaging the drive; second, the valve is operated to the desired position; and finally, the key is removed and the valve is locked in the desired position. For safety applications, the ATL’s housing is supplied in stainless steel coated with yellow polyester resin, while for security applications, locks are manufactured from hardened steel, with a protective security skirt. — Smith Flow Control, 21 Kenton Lands Road, Erlanger, Ky., 41018, phone: (859) 578-2395, fax: (859)-341-2302, e-mail: sales@smithflow.com, Web site: Web: www.smithflowcontrol.com
Innovative Mass Flowmeter
Krohne’s innovative NTEP-approved, single-straight tube Coriolis mass flowmeter, Optimass Series 7000, is uniquely constructed and offers no-hassle installation and superior performance in density and mass flow. With its single-straight tube design and broad range of end connections, the meter meets the most stringent hygienic requirements for food and pharmaceutical applications. It also complies with industry standards, including ASME Bioprocessing equipment, EHEDG, 3-A and FDA. The meters are approved for use in hazardous environments. The corrosion-resistant Optimass Series 7000 is the first of its kind to provide wetted parts in titanium, stainless steel or Hastelloy, allowing it to withstand the harshest conditions. The single straight-tube design is resistant to blocking or fouling, allowing the meter to handle high viscosity fluids with ease, as well as maintaining a high level of accuracy for mass and volumetric flow and density measurement. — Krohne Inc., 7 Dearborn Road, Peabody, Mass., 01960, phone: (800) 356-9464, fax: (978) 535-1720, email: info@KROHNE.com, Web site: www.krohne.com
