G.S. Gelato & Desserts, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., a manufacturer of authentic Italian gelato and sorbet, received the 2016 Food and Beverage (FABI) Award from the National Restaurant Association for its new flavor — Guava Sorbet.
Crafted with naturally pure Guava imported from Brazil, this frozen dessert product is free from dairy, gluten, fat, trans-fat and artificial flavors and colors. It has a pink color and a vibrant, refreshing taste, according to the company. To be considered for the award, the sorbet was judged on its high differentiation from similar products on the market, intriguing concept, excellent taste and ability to be a high interest item that creates new opportunities for foodservice operators.
“We always focus on staying innovative by outsourcing the best ingredients from around the world based on the current consumer demands and preferences,” said Cameron Lewis, Research & Development Manager of G.S. Gelato. “Our sorbet is pure, yet simple, and it can be incorporated in a wide variety of dessert, drink recipes, or enjoyed on its own.”
The company’s Guava Sorbet will be showcased at G.S. Gelato’s Booth, #3282 at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show on May 21-24, 2016 in Chicago. For more information, visit gsgelato.com.
